Help Rescue Michigan from Cap-and-Trade Energy Taxes

Americans for Prosperity-Michigan needs your help to get cap-and-trade out of Michigan.

Since 2007, Michigan has been a part of the Midwestern Greenhouse Gas Reduction Accord (MGRA, or “Megra”), which will drive up electricity prices, transfer  tens of millions of dollars from the private sector to public sector and contribute to the toxic business environment in the Great Lakes State.

However, we finally have a chance to rescue Michigan from these energy taxes.  Now that Gov. Granholm, who signed over Michigan’s economy to MGRA in 2007, has left Lansing, Governor Snyder, with encouragement from the legislature, can lead us out of MGRA.  Fortunately, Representative Tom McMillin plans to help reintroduce such legislation, his House Resolution 227 from 2010, calling on Michigan to leave MGRA. This is an important first step in ending our one-state depression. We must let job-providers know that Michigan is open for business — and closed to radical and destructive cap-and-trade taxes.

Please fill out the form below and then urge your state lawmakers to support this commonsense measure to get Michigan out of the MGRA energy tax scheme.
